Once you receive your NASA membership information, you can use your membership code to register for an HPDE event at members.drivenasa.com/gr-track-events.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your HPDE, please contact us as soon as possible using the Contact form and select 'Cancel/Reschedule my HPDE' from the dropdown menu.
HPDE events typically continue in the rain, as it provides an excellent opportunity to learn car control in wet conditions. However, if you're uncomfortable, you may reschedule your event.
Yes! Your GR vehicle is track-ready from the factory. For the complimentary HPDE, your vehicle should be in stock or near-stock condition. Certain safety modifications may be allowed or encouraged.
You'll start with a safety briefing, then participate in classroom sessions and on-track driving with professional instruction. You'll be placed in a run group appropriate for your experience level.
Set up your Toyota Parts Center Online account at autoparts.toyota.com, then use PROMO CODE GRob25Q324 at checkout to receive your 25% discount on select Toyota parts and accessories.
A Snell-rated helmet (SA2015/SA2020 or M2015/M2020 or newer) is required for all track sessions. Many events offer helmet rentals, but availability is limited. GR owners receive a 20% discount on G-FORCE helmets.
If you're new to track driving, sign up for the beginner group (HPDE 1). If you have prior track experience with other organizations, contact the event organizers to discuss appropriate placement.
Yes, NASA recognizes experience from other reputable track day organizations. Contact the event organizers with documentation of your experience for appropriate group placement.
In HPDE 1 and 2 groups, you will have an instructor riding with you providing real-time feedback. As you advance to higher groups, instruction becomes optional.
Your hosting NASA region will be in touch 3-10 days prior to the event with more information about the schedule, where to meet, and where to park. Keep an eye on your email and check your spam folder.
Yes, track day insurance is available from various providers. Standard auto insurance typically does not cover track events, so we recommend purchasing additional coverage for peace of mind.
Car numbers help corner workers and instructors identify vehicles for safety purposes. They can quickly communicate about specific cars if needed. Numbers should be clearly visible on both sides of your vehicle.
Absolutely! NASA offers a wide variety of racing programs beyond HPDE, including Time Trial, wheel-to-wheel racing, and more. Your NASA membership gives you access to the entire NASA community.
NASA has regions throughout the United States with events at tracks nationwide. Visit drivenasa.com/hpde/ to find events near you.
Your NASA membership expires 1 year after purchase of your new Toyota GR sports car. Your complimentary HPDE must be redeemed within that same 1-year period.
We hope you are looking forward to your complementary NASA track experience. Below are some items to help you plan for your experience:
- Your hosting NASA region will be in touch 3-10 days prior to the event with more information about the schedule, where to meet, where to park, etc. Please keep a close eye on your email and be sure to check your spam folder.
- It's very important to be on time, as the schedule runs extremely tight and we don't want you to miss out on any of the experience! Parking, unloading, vehicle inspection, etc. will take some time in the morning so please plan accordingly.
- Your car will need a tech inspection before you can go on track. This will be performed at the track once you arrive. OEM safety equipment will pass inspection. Aftermarket equipment must meet standards outlined in the Club Codes & Regulations. Please download and print the NASA tech form and fill out the top portion of the form only (name and car info).
- For a visual guide on essential pre-track car checks (like oil, tire pressure, and lug nuts), watch this short video.
- You do not need any kind of NASA license (TREC, Time Trial, Competition, etc) to participate in your track day.
- You do not need to fill out a NASA medical evaluation form to participate in your track day.
- Please visit google maps, type in track name, and choose satellite view just to get your bearings on the paddock and track layout.
- It may also be helpful to visit YouTube.com, type in "NASA (track name)" and view one of the various videos online to get a sense of the track.
- Please plan to top off your gas tank before arriving at the track. There are fuel pumps on site at most facilities, but this is one less thing you will want to worry about when you arrive (and the fuel at the track is always more expensive).
- Closed toe shoes, long sleeve shirt, and long pants are required.
- Please empty your car of all non-essential items (cooler, suitcase, water bottles, etc). You do not want flying projectiles while you are out on track. This includes floormats and any items that may be in your glove box.
- You will need a helmet to drive on track. You will want a proper fitting helmet that meets Snell 2005 (SA2005; M2005) or ECE 22.05, or newer (or equivalent) standards for cars or motorcycles. We encourage you to visit the website here for a 20% discount from G-Force: https://www.gforce.com/pages/tgr
- You must have a number on both sides of your vehicle to go on track. You are welcome to have vinyl or magnetic numbers pre-made but you may also make numbers out of painter's tape while on site. You can check what number you are registered with under your Upcoming Event Details.
- We suggest folks bring a small tote of some kind to the track with them to leave any essential items in while they are on track. You can bring a small cooler, water bottles, lawn chair, etc. and make a small space for yourself in your parking space. All of your belongings will be safe there while you are driving on track.
- Some facilities have concession stands on site and some do not. You are welcome to pack a lunch/cooler of your own.
- Spectators/guests are welcome to join you! Guests can park anywhere in the paddock so long as they are not blocking anyone who made need to get out on track. There are a couple different areas that they can hang out and watch while you are out on track. Speak with a NASA official on site and they can help guide your guests to those areas.
- Spectators/guests will not be permitted to ride with you on track during your sessions.
- Get a good night of sleep before and during the event.
- Stay hydrated – Drink lots of water throughout the day.
- The NASA HPDE cancellation policy requires a minimum of 14-days notice before your scheduled event. You will forfeit your complimentary track experience if we do not hear from you 14-days prior to your event. Regretfully, we cannot make any exceptions to this policy.
- Please know that NASA events do not cancel due to rain.
If you are no longer able to attend the event, please submit a cancellation request.
